Mike Biselli – Class of 1975

Mike Biselli was born on August 29, 1957, and grew up on McGoldrick Way in Sparks, Nevada. While attending Sparks High School, Mike met Karen Rosling at her locker in C Hall in November 1974… the day that changed his life.

After graduating from Sparks High School in 1975, Mike co-founded the local rock band, White Water, in 1976. Since day one, White Water has been “playing music for a purpose” to help improve the community they love!

Two wonderful things happened in 1978. He married the love of his life, Karen Rosling. They were together for 50 years until her passing in November 2024. Also in 1978, Mike started his career at the City of Sparks as a temporary street maintenance worker. Any success that Mike had during his long career he credits the great employees he worked with. After a long and wonderful career, he retired from the City of Sparks in 2010.

Karen and Mike loved being parents to Mike Junior and Danielle. Mike Senior coached Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball as well Pop Warner Football. After Mike Junior played football at Stanford University, he and Mike Senior started the Biselli Development Group to assist high school student athletes and their families during the college athletic recruiting process. Mike Senior still works with high school student athletes and their families helping them to design college athletic recruiting packets.

To Mike, Sparks means family. It always points back to Sparks High School and the City of Sparks! It’s where he met and eventually married the love of his life, Little Miss Karen. It’s where he raised a family together with her by his side. It’s where he had a dream career in the city he loves and with coworkers he was honored to lead. Sparks High School will always hold a special place in his heart as he is a Railroader through and through!
